Yellow Mountains stands at the southern part of Anhui province, 60km from the Yellow Mountains City of Anhui province. It is said that the Huangdi (originator of the Chinese nation) once came here to pick medical plants and make pills, and finally became an immortal flying into the heaven on top of a dragon. According to the legend, one of the Tang emperors decreed that the name of these mountains be officially known as Yellow Mountains. Yellow Mountains covers an area of 1,200sqkm, and is over 150km long. With 72 countable peaks, the Yellow Mountains has the most peaks of any mountain in China. The Heavenly Capital Peak (elevation 1.81 km), the Lotus Flower Peak (elevation 1.873 km) and the Bright Summit (elevation 1.84 km) are the three tallest peaks in Yellow Mountains. Additionally, the Yellow Mountains is famous for its four significant beauties, namely oddly shaped pines, spectacular rocky peaks, a sea of clouds, and a crystal-clear mountain hot spring. The scenery of the Yellow Mountain is quite different during each of the four seasons of the year. In spring, the Yellow Mountains is decorated with colorful flowers. And in summer, the spring streams are murmuring. In autumn, the maple leaves make the whole Mountains red. Finally, in winter the Yellow Mountains is covered with white snow.
