Basongcuo is located apart from the upper stream of the Nyingchi area, Gongbo'ayamda County, more than 50 kilometers from Bahe River in the high canyon. It is the Ningma sect's (the Tibetan Buddhism Ningma sect) famous holy and sacred land. Although Basongcuo Tibet is inconvenient in terms of transportation and is far away from the cities in the ravine, it is actually covered by luxuriant towers in the forest with hills and blue water that is widely known by the outside world. It becomes one of the scenic spots which the Nyingchi area is first known.
It is about 100 meters from the shore and there is an island by the name of Zaxi Island. It is a myth that this island is "the hollow island" as the island and the lake bottom is not connected but floating on the lake water. Although this is only a myth, it actually makes a person wonders about the luxuriantly mysterious. If you ended up setting foot on the island, you may as well try to stamp your feet on the island; certain places gave a hollow feeling when you stamped your feet.
Not far from here is the wrong Nanan Rill Lake where there is a mysterious myth about coming here to pray for son at the "pray for a son cave"  The myth has it that Mr. Lian Huasheng, a Canada master once come to this place to pray for a son and it really works. There is a 15 square meters big megalith northwest from the lake. It was said that a person upon drilling the hole in the big center stone center will be eliminated of sickness.
Not far from the beach is the "Master Lian Huasheng leading a pious life in the cave" whereas on the west bank of the lake West is the "King Gesar aiming with the arrow place". It was said that on the Zang calendar 15th April every year, a long white scallop will appear under the deep blue lake water that the natives widely believed that gives to King Gesar's huge white hada. As the Ningma sect famous holy lake, there are continuous followers coming to this turning wheel of prayer wheel lake for viewing every year.
